Capital Area Greenway Cleanup - Saturday July 20th at 9AM-1PM

We will be cleaning up our newly adopted area of the Capital Area Greenway on Saturday, July 20 at 9AM.

We will start at Lassiter Mill Historical Park (b/w Root Elementary & bridge over Crabtree Creek, off Lassiter Mill Road).

We will finish at North Hills Park (100 Chowan Circle). Parent pickup at approx. 1PM (expect SMS/Email/phone within ~30 minutes of completion).

Please bring packed lunch, water, gloves, suntan lotion and bugspray.

Approximate Google Maps bike trail is here: http://goo.gl/maps/qkCig which shows 3369 Lassiter Falls Circle as the starting point and 100 Chowan Circle as the ending point.

The commitment includes doing the following for one year - at least four times per year.

    1. Traveling the length of the adopted trail area

    2. Removing litter and debris (including separating recyclable items)

    3. Observing and recording the general conditions along the trail including:

  • benches, picnic tables, signs, etc.

  • bridges

  • trail surfaces

  • wildlife, trees and other plants

  • water and stream bank conditions
