February camp out

camp out details

When: Feb 10-Feb 12.

What: Backpacking. We will be hiking approximately 12 mile loop,

carrying all of our gear while hiking.

Where: Birkhead Wilderness (near Asheboro NC, about 90 minutes from

Raleigh)

Prerequisite: Pass a backpack inspection. Show you have all of the

gear to safely backpack in the winter.

Inspection: There will be a demo of gear to bring at 1/31 meeting.

Backpack inspections on 2/7. See Scout handbook for packing lists.

Costs: Only for gas and food, no campsite fees. Actual costs TBD,

should be inexpensive.
